Ok, so I should probably put something here about me for those of you that my be interested. I’m not ready to put my name out there, but I’m comfortable enough talking about my life. My friends are just now finding out about this blog and soon I will probably even share it with my family.
Who am I? I’m the oldest of four kids and I grew up in Kansas City….Missouri not Kansas. I grew up in a solid middle class family with mid-Missouri roots. Both sets of grandparents live in very small towns and I loved going to visit, in fact I still do because it grounds me. I went to undergrad at Mizzou and then spent a few years back in KC. After that I moved to Dallas, Texas to get my MBA from Southern Methodist University. I spent almost six years in Texas where I met the man I now call my husband. We moved to Chicago in 2004 and that’s been home every since.
I know a lot of people but am selective with whom (who/whom?) I call good friends. There are a few that have known me for a very long time (they know who they are) and they are like family to me. I prefer to have dinner at home than in a restaurant. My perfect weekend includes a Sunday night on the couch with movies and something really yummy for dinner (meaning not healthy).
My family means the world to me. I lost my mama to breast cancer almost 10 years ago and to this day I miss her. She fought hard to be here and we were lucky for the time that we had. My mother was far from perfect, as those that are close to me know, but she meant well and she left behind a legacy. She was a force to be reckoned with and my world will never be the same without her.
